THANKS for all the sweet birthday wishes for Benjamin. We read them together this morning and he thought it was pretty special to have messages from everyone. Thanks for making his day!
morning donuts...thanks Nana & Papa!
having a happy birthday with cousin Makenna (& Illinois travel companion & sweet friend) delighted to have a new semi truck
I keep asking myself... where have the last 5 years gone?? Somehow...here we are and Benjamin is so big & so excited to be turning 5 today. I enjoyed making his cakes for him & he was so impressed to have a Tow Mater cake. We had a fun day today. I love his happiness, delight in the simple things, and his loving care. One of the first statements out of his mouth this morning was..."Mommy, you are just the sweetest one ever." What a wonderful way to start the day.
"Mommy, Trevin took 5 walks today without our help!!"
Yep, that's right...he's taking 'walking' to a new level. 5 consecutive steps without holding on before plopping down. It is so cute & I'm so glad Nanny got to see it for herself. The first time I saw him do this today was on the tile floor in the kitchen as he set his sights on the open dishwasher. He just loves that thing! I'll try to get some pictures of this tomorrow.
Thank you, Becca, for taking these pictures of our birthday boy. We've had a busy week so far & today we go in for his 1 year check up. Thanks for all the nice birthday wishes & comments. We love our family & friends!
Up next: a lesson on how to open gifts (as per Trevin) & cake tasting
Today we started the morning having a special breakfast together - as part of my special celebartion. I kept thinking about what happened a year ago on Labor Day. We started that day quite early(12:30am) with a "Honey let's go to the hospital!" A lot of that morning is a blur to me. But the best part was being handed a little bundle that had a very loud cry. It should have been a warning to me...that this was not going to be another "Benjamin". Anyway, it's been a great 365 days and I can't believe our little boy is going to be 1 tomorrow. I have not gotten caught up on my sleep, but we hope for improvements in that department very soon.
