Wedding Bells

We enjoyed a rather warm afternoon in Dallas at Russell & Kimberly's wedding reception.  It was so special to be there, see many friends, & meet new ones.  For Trevin the best part was....the cake!  I'm not sure Benjamin's favorite part.  He was pretty content just taking in all the sights & watching the slideshow of their beautiful wedding in Cancun.  I loved hearing the hymn that Kimberly's brother wrote for the wedding occasion.  The words & music were so touching.

Day Adventure with Cousins

The Bob Bullock Texas State Museum had some great exhibits we had to check out before they left.  One was on the Hubble Telescope.  We have never been to see it in West Texas but maybe someday we can head out there.  The boys found the pictures fascinating.  They also enjoyed the mock set up of the Houston NASA control room.  I got quite a few chuckles when the kids reach out & attempt to touch the fish during the 3D Under the Sea IMAX film.  The array of fish & sea creatures were amazing.

12th anniversary!

On June 1st we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary.  Wow, how the years have flown by.  I love our little family & wonderful blessing of my boys.  We enjoyed yummy burgers at Might Fine after union meeting.  We had a sweet milkshake treat from sweet friends - Ruben & Lori!

Beach time = Great time

Right after the boys got out of school for the summer we took a mini vacation with my parents to the Texas coast.  Aside from LOTs and LOTs of seaweed that had washed up onto the beach, we had a wonderful time.  I remember the times we've taken Benjamin to various beaches in the past....Galveston, Grand Cayman, Florida, CA coast.  One of his absolute favorite things to do was to run on the beach - chasing waves, running to catch birds, etc.  The seaweed definitely prevented the boys from having that opportunity here.  But there was lots of clean sand to play in, enough wind for kite flying, & the wonderful ocean breeze & surf sound to compensate.  We took an excursion to Corpus Christi one day to check out the Texas State Aquarium.  It took us a few hours to see the exhibits there.

Zilker Gardens

On an unseasonably cool Saturday morning in May, we had a fun walking through the Zilker Gardens & exploring the Faerie Trail and looking for Faerie houses & forts.  Some were so intricate & the kids were delighted discover them along the way.
