the sweetness of summer
One of my favorite things about summer is our time together...Trevin is old enough this summer to do the same things as Benjamin (more or less). So, we've done lots togther as a family...biking, gardening, letter writing, swimming, & games. Our lazy days will come to an end in 2 weeks.

Looking out...
Here's a peek of what we saw out of the car window on our trip...
buttes & bandlands, big storm systems that we managed to escape, 1(!!) combine cutting wheat (that was it for the entire trip), crazy amounts of smoke from the fires in SE Montana, & some lovely parks for eating our picnic lunches.
Fishing in Montana
During our time at the campgrounds, we fished multiple times with the kids...at the dock the kids caught Blue Gill. Cute little fish. Part of the entertainment was watching the fish nibble and steal/eat the bait. One morning Russell & Benjamin went out very early in Uncle Ryan's boat. They got a very nice Northern Pike. We didn't get to enjoy eating the fish that the Uncles caught...we missed out!

Friends in Montana
Doing one big post on our trip was a bit too overwhelming for me - so I'll do several posts over the next few days. We loved seeing our MT friends...great times together.

Family in Montana
We had some very special days with our family - at Ft. Peck and on the farm in MT. The weather/outdoor time was refreshing, the cousin time was unforgettable for our little guys, & the catch up time with the adults was wonderful. I'm so thankful for our family - many, many miles separate all of us - but I love how we all just "pick up where we left off" the last time we were together. We have many, many memories from this trip.
