Math Pentathalon

Benjamin spent many Friday afternoons with Russell & a small group of 2nd graders in our neighborhood practicing and learning math games.  This was our only extracurricular event this year (aside from violin which is not school related).  Benjamin loved the games & it taught him so much...new math skills, problem solving, strategy, etc.  But at the same time the games were fun!  I'm so proud of his hard work.  He attended his first tournament this Spring in April.  He participated in 5 games & scored 4 wins & 1 tie.  He brought home a gold medal & a great sense of accomplishment.  The funny part is that he still wants to play those games with Russell even though the tournament & practices are over now.  It is so fun to see his enthusiasm.  Way to go B!
