80 degrees already??

No kidding...it made it to 80 degrees for a bit this afternoon. So, I feel like spring is here. I came across this spring cleaning list...it looks good & I think it'll help encourage me along in the right direction in a few weeks. Once this project is done then I'll start my outdoor projects. Currently, the boys are building a fort in the garden area. Since it's a bit early anyway to start working in the garden, I'll let stay. I'm looking forward to this spring cleaning challenge! http://www.finelyground.net/2012/03/one-day-challenge-spring-cleaning.html

January update on Benjamin

Benjamin:
-growing taller by the minute (so it seems)
-just bought him a 'new' violin - 1/4th size
-started with the Strings Ensemble at his school - fun & a great teacher
-loves his new (bigger) bike
-favorite games...Monopoly Deal, Music Bingo, Sorry
-thinks I work at a hotel (he came to the new facility where I worked over the holidays & he was pretty impressed)
-he is always on the search for treasure...diamonds & such.
-asked about an old hymnbook on our piano (we looked up to see when it was published). It said 1902...and he wondered if pirates were alive back in 1902.
-loves science projects

What a great big brother & son. I feel so lucky.

January update on Trevin

Trevin:
-fully potty trained & I can't remember the last time he had an accident.
-my little sidekick...following me around
- we take turns working & playing together -very few tantrums anymore (I thought 3 would be harder than 2!)
-still so snuggly when he wakes up in the morning or from his afternoon nap
-sleeps thru the night 95% of the time
-loves to sing -told me last night, "Mommy, I love meeting."
-played meeting with cousin Colton yesterday at Grandma's house
-wants to go to his "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star school" (he came up with the name) to go to "kindergrade"
-likes to tell me "one (or six) questions about Papa" every night as he is going out of bed (this consists of a made up story about something that Papa does...absolutely hilarious & precious)
-loves puzzles -plays fire rescue with Benjamin -favorite toy
- flashlight
-37 pounds

It's going to be a fun year with him! And I may not ever be ready for him to go to school.

Be Positive!

Happy 2013!

My goal for 2013...

New Year's Eve

Saying goodbye to 2012...

Boys + Sparklers = FUN

Benjamin, Damion, Ashton & Preston became good game buddies
at Thompson's New Year's Get Together.  We have found so many great games to play together.  Our list of favorites includes:  SkipBo Junior, UNO, Scrabble Junior, Monopoly Deal, Sequence, SpotIt, & more.

"And now let us welcome the new year, full of things that have never been."

And the cousins came to visit..

Our Idaho cousins came to visit for a week in December.  The days were filled with all kinds of activities & also an attempt from all adults to wipe noses, give drinks, & keep the little ones well.  The boys really enjoyed racing cars today, performing "paper jet airplane shows" with Papa, riding bikes, making gingerbread cookies with Nana, decorating little houses, hide & seek, & general goofing off.  Miss Malia loved helping in the kitchen which was so fun for me.  My boys have not shown much interest in cooking/baking/helping in the kitchen.  We're working on that!  One evening we went out for Indian food & left the kids with Nana & Papa.  It was soooo peaceful.  We also enjoyed hosting a Come & Go/Open House for the Klepzig family.  It was so fun to be together!

The little cousins played restaurant!
Date night with one of my favorite couples!
Benjamin & Damion determined there can never be too many races.

Trevin is usually always ready to give a goofy grin.  He is such a happy boy, but is so silly for pictures.

Thanks for coming to see us, Amy & Ryan.  We can't wait to get together again.

End of the Year Trip: San Antonio

the Alamo on a beautiful cold, clear night
Love the lights!
San Antonio Historical Mosiac next to our hotel
Who wants a trolley ride? [San Antonio Children's Museum]
Italian Gellato on the Riverwalk
Not so crowded on Thursday night, however it was much worse by Friday.
a beautiful sunrise
Shopping at HEB...Trevin was soooo busy getting groceries.
The boys enjoyed the Buckhorn Museum.  So much to see!
Supper at Rainforest Cafe.  Benjamin was thrilled, Trevin not so much (but he endured!)

December Memories

Russell's holiday party was fun...enjoyed games, good food & visiting with his coworkers.
Yeah for Russell...he was awarded Employee of the Year.  [I got congratulated too!!  Yes, I'll take a little of the credit.  :)]
