4 and a half!

It seems unreal that Benjamin is 6 months short of 5 years. He is such a happy boy and is absolutely thrilled with his new bike & accessories. He and Daddy have been working on the technicalities of this 'big' bike...braking, training wheels, etc. He told me yesterday, "In a few days I won't even need the training wheels!"

Sitting up & such

"Children laugh an average of three hundred or more times a day; adults laugh an average of five times a day. We have a lot of catching up to do." Heather King

Family time

We try to visit Grandma Klepzig once a week and this time we had a double treat - getting to spend time with Makenna and meet a new cousin - Gwendolyn Klepzig. She is a doll & it was so fun to hold a sweet little girl. We were so happy to meet her & see the new mommy too!

Pretend play - Benjamin & Makenna (each holding their car keys) are on a trip - driving to Illinois! They covered a lot of miles that morning and managed to find a hotel room(the chair closet), take naps, & eat "out" (which included sampling some leaves from one of Grandma's plants - gross!! so we had a little talk about that afterwards).

This is one cutie pie! Can't you tell I'm so happy to be holding a little girl?? Don't get me wrong - I love my boys, but this was a special treat.

Our Outing

Today we went to the zoo. It was not the San Diego zoo, it was not the St. Louis zoo. But was a zoo. Bottom line - the boys loved it. The weather was perfect. It took us about 2 hours to see - just right for 3 busy 4 yr olds, 2 babies, 2 tired mommas, & 1 helper. Benjamin loved the train ride except for one minor detail, "Mommy, it didn't take us anywhere." "You're right, son, it took us right back to where we started. Sorry for the disappointment."

6 months old!

Stats:
18 lbs, 10 oz - 75th percentile
27.5 inches long - 90th percentile
  • Sitting alone for little while before leaning & toppling over
  • Loves his thumb when he is tired
  • Started solids last week - rice cereal & sweet potatoes
  • Finds his toes quite fascinating
  • Smiles the most for his big brother
  • Laughs the most with his daddy
  • Puts everything in his mouth - time to clean house & get rid of the 'little' things
  • Sat in his bumbo during special meeting & enjoyed it
  • Makes hyperventilating (is that a word?) sounds when he needs milk or when he knows it's coming - too funny
  • Loves being cuddled & held - I love those moments when he just rests so still in my arms
  • Sleeping...well, let's not talk about that. Brief daytime naps & wakes 2x a night to eat
  • Sings with me at night when I'm putting him to bed

He makes us all so happy...

Texas in bloom

These are the days we could spend all our time outside. It was fun to take my camera outside & capture some color! In case you are wondering what we did last week, check Amy's blog.

Happy Birthday Amy!

It was a rare treat this week to be with Amy on her birthday. Lunch at CPK, watching our kids play together at the park, shopping, & just being together. Thanks for the good times, Sis!

Sweetness

There is something about these pictures that makes my heart melt. One has hair the other does not (well, maybe a little). But they both have rolls...look at her cute little arms & look at his ankles.
